The Health and Technologies Competence Center focus area explores the intersections between technological innovation, healthcare practices, and education. It examines digital developments and emerging technologies through a critical and inclusive lens. Technological advances can enhance the quality of care, particularly by supporting clinical decision-making, facilitating information sharing, and optimizing care processes.

Technologies also play an important role in the education of healthcare professionals and students, as well as in raising awareness among patients and the wider public. By improving health literacy, they can strengthen individuals’ autonomy and capacity to make informed decisions about their health. To support these objectives, HESAV relies on its Health Law Unit and the Engineering & Health Platform, developed in partnership with HEIG-VD. These initiatives bring together interdisciplinary expertise to address health technologies in a comprehensive and holistic manner.
